CARAMOAN ADVENTURE: PUYATERs EXPLOREs KULAPNIT CAVE

CARAMOAN ADVENTURE: PUYATERs EXPLOREs KULAPNIT CAVE
BY: BELLE ALDE & EXZUR CHAVEZ

“The beauty of one thing is not always shown on it physical appearance, look what is inside and explore what you have found and then tell me.”acern.talk

The local of Tabgon, Caramoan is once to discover the truly captivating and breathtaking beauty of Kulapnit Cave. Unexploited, untouched, and built naturally by nature itself. Kulapnit cave is used to be the sanctuary of the famous big bat “KULAPNIT” were the cave named after.  Traces of Kulapnit are still noticeable, although the local mention Kulapnit abandoned the cave years ago. Unlike any other cave the Kulapnit cave has natural running water from the opening till the end.
The Kulapnit cave was once closed to the public due to the ownership issue until it was resolved, now tourist and visitor can freely visit the cave.

OUR EXPERIENCE
Just like anybody, we are hesitant, coz we don’t want to spoil our vacation we decided to explore the cave. To get to Kulapnit cave we have to rent a “top down” the modern transportation the town can offer aside from Bangka.

From the “Groto” it takes ten to fifteen (10-15 min.) minutes, plus five (5) minutes walk through the rice field to   the house of care taker and to meet the cave tour guide.

Another 5 to 10 minutes to get to the cave entrance

And we have to cross the river

Finally the cave entrance

Before we get into the cave entrance
The cave tour guide and another guide

at the end of that staircase is the true challenge
We found this peel with a heart shape... wait a minute is she wearing a diamond ring while exploring cave?

a fun after

eye on the camera please... another group would want to explore the cave I just told myself hehehe   GOOD LUCK!

The cave is a miraculous one of the guide told us! They say face of the Virgin Mary formed in of one the stalagmite, other said face of Jesus Christ is formed in one of the stalactite but all of this was seems to be true since one of the guide just broke the lamp (unintentionally) which we are about to used inside the cave, and soo the guide had a hard time which of the stalactite and stalagmite, miraculous or not faith in God is not about what you saw but rather what you believe in.
IPhone camera light plus head torch light served as our only survival kit inside the cave... bruises and scratches left as my evidence but hey nothing to worry about.Narrow passages and small holes and an almost ten feet rocky wall need to be climbed (rope and cable free) just to get to the end of the cave.
Yes we made it!

Caramoan Adventure: Puyaters goes to TABGON

TABGON (Carmel Caglago Caramoan Cam. Sur) – a small Baranggay where 2 beautiful tourist destination lives. By: Belle Alde

Tabgon is about 25-30 minutes boat ride from La Playa Resorts. Motorized Bangka is available for rent to any Island destination ranging from Php 1,500 - 2,500 a day.

A view from afar ( Our Lady of Holy Rosary)
As for our first destination in Tabgon we decided to visit the “Groto” OUR LADY OF THE MOST HOLY ROSARY (Mother of Peace). Seated on top of the mountain with 500 or more (from easy to slightly difficult) steps.

It wasn't the first time Exzur will visit the Groto, so he knew a little of what to bring hmmm.... water (/) Ice candy (/) hmm not bad hehehe something cold to freshen up...
Fifteen pesos will be collected as for maintenance fee. Souvenir and other religious items are also available for sale.
Finally!  hmm hehehe were not done yet!. We are just about to register and start

Puyaters Jumar Esperida Alliorde and Exzur Amador Chavez was the first to climb leaving Marchbelle Aldz ( not intentionally) behind, they climb like a pro... and I’m crawling and struggling. One of my unforgetable experience is on my way up, I felt mixed emotion ,the worries that I might faint, a feeling like I’m getting LBM plus the effect of the mid day heat... in the middle of the mountain! Oh sweet Jesus!
Wait ! Did I just Puke?as Jumar and Exzur watching me I can see worries on their faces.. I told them "I'm fine"  (showed them thumb up sign)
Its not him who finish the climb but rather it's  Jumar Bwhahaha... sorry dude! anyway that was a nice shot.. Thanks to Jumar

Though I really feel like giving up but I didn’t. I manage to do it and I survived and it was really great.
Can you Imagine how big the statue is?

Jumar Belle and Exzur
with our tour guide manong.............hmmm.. I forgot... hehehe
Did you just see the rays to him? Or your more into the beautiful spot.

Our Journey to the Groto was priceless indeed, the scenery the was great!. seems  like you’re  top of the world kind of feelings not to mention the mixed cool Sea breeze mountain smell and air fanning your face... It is worth of sacrifice we made up there... and we all enjoyed with a successful smile on our faces

Caramoan : the Puyater’s Adventure

Friends are one of the best treasures a man can keep for a life time.

Temperature is getting high.  Halo-Halo vendors are sprouting in every corner. Students are busy practicing for graduation march.  These are some of the signs that summer is approaching. Who will forget the experience, fun and joy of summer if you are from San Fernando?  Who will forget the pain “pagtinuri” (v) “Turi” (n) (circumcision done by “albularyo” (quack doctor) felt of a young boy? The plan was started from the reminiscing of such experiences.

White, Semi- white, dark or Black sand, some say’s a beautiful Island should have white sand, but what really makes an island beautiful? Color does really matters to you?  Should you prefer White sand over Black sand or semi-white sand would be enough? This was never an issue with the Puyater’s during their vacation in Caramoan and so they tag it Adventure.

Caramoan Group of Island is one of the best destinations for summer. Tourist, visitors and the locale are alike; they love to go to Caramoan.  Belle, Ajay, Nang-Nang, we are all from San Fernando, Camarines Sur and we love to see the world.  This is our first destination.
